Will you buy a 5th gen?
Now, before you go saying "GM will screw it up", lets say that the Camaro comes out just the way you like it. We know a lot about the future "Chevy Coupe", and with the info that has been said here and else where, as well as if the design is to your liking....will you buy a 5th gen Camaro?

i am interested in seeing it. as the pattern goes since lutz took over i know it will be a performer, but that pattern has also carried a serious price tag.
styling from gm has been good, the entire line up keeps getting more powerful and better mileage at the same time, that means a winner to me.
i just hope they discontinue what seems to be a pattern of $3-4K price point jumps everytime they shine up a new car. from concept to production teh GTO went up from an estimated price of 27K(replacement for the Z28 price range) to over 32K(nearly vette price range). not a good sign for thsoe of us who enjoy average incomes.
i will rock one if i can afford it.

Conversion rates are a bitch eh?
the Monaro is actualy much more expensive if you were to buy one. Right now, you can pick one up for 27k. 8)

you know it man.
i think gm is just playing the hell out of teh baby boomer generation right now. there are more of them than any other age group and as they approach retirement they want fun stuff. but since there are more of them and they can afford a little better gm is willing to offer it to them at their price.
if you remeber the original GTO concept was based on a several year old base model monaro. it had cloth manual adjust seats and stuff like that, still had a/c, pw, pl, and nice sound system. once they added in all the bells and whistles that all of our parents want in a car it got pricey.

you have to at least provide a 'maybe' choice in the poll. i know, but...
it depends on a lot more than just if GM gets it right. i want a solstice, but not the first year car because we all know about first year cars. i don't want to have to void the warranty from day one by throwing a pair of turbos on it, and i don't want to pay for the depreciation on it. at the very least, that's two or three years after its introduction.
outside of that, i am considering a CTS-V. if i am driving a CTS-V, it'd almost be a step down to pick up a camaro. so, you see, it depends on more than just if the camaro comes out the way i want it. if they are serious and it comes out before the turn of the decade, and i don't already have a full garage, i'd consider it.

I voted "Firebird or bust" as I'm a die hard bird fan, but!!!
If the new Camaro looks ANYTHING like the graphical conceptions floating around, then I would be very tempted, dependent on many factors of course.

I am biased to see a 5th gen firebird, but I know that probably won't happen. If the camaro looks like it does in a few of the pics I have seen, I will have to see.
I'm a maybe

if history repeats, i'll be car shopping again in mid to late 08 with the 09's coming out.
if my gto at that point still impresses me, then the primary cars i will be looking at next time will be the camaro and the gto. Although since it's a total redesign on a new chassis, the potential is there to royally screw it up. so we'll see.
there's some other stuff that interests me in the next few years, such as the dodge charger, new mustang, and a ton of possible other rwd entries from gm including the bonneville, grand prix, impala, etc.
by that point i'll be 30, so who knows whether my tastes will change, or i'll even be starting a family at that point, so a 2 door might be out of the question. who really knows what the future may bring?

I am very anxious to see what the new 'Camaro' looks like, however I don't think I'll be in the position to be new car shopping for the next several years. I'm fairly confident that my car will be running by then, so I'll have something to amuse myself with

If I had the ammount of money that the pricetag may be boasting I would defenitly be on the list. But I'll have to wait and see. I would never buy the first run of any car. The next year they will always change something for the better.
So I wouldnt buy a 05' I would wait a year for the 06'. But I voted "Firebird or bust"

I had to vote die-hard Firebird fan as well. Although I've owned an 85 Camaro (my first car actually), I've also had a 90 'bird and a 97 'bird. That's telling. Gotta stick with my Firebirds, even if Camaro is the only one of the two to return.

you're not serious, are you? the power to weight ratio of that car with a pair of turbos will beat anything in your garage... girl car, indeed...
