So I needed a winter beater..

So, I bought a brand new 2005 chevy colorado!!!! Weeee.. this is my first new vehicle and it's a 5 speed. And it's more than a winter beater.. I just wanted to play it down. I'm so happy.

Nice. Just what I had in mind recently. Just spoke to a guy with a 79' Silverado for a winter beater. But good choice, the Colorado has good reviews.

NICE!! Welcome to the Revolution!
8)

What model did you get? Did you get the I-5 engine? Teh 5cyl and the 5spd should prove to be a strong pair.
Color?

I actually went with the base model's wimpy 4-banger. It's a vortec though. I don't plan on towing anything, and I don't need it to be uber-fast. I think this is gonna be a good combo for my first new vehicle. I got it in white. I'm not a fan of white cars/trucks.. but this one looks REAL good in white.

I'm sucking at first gear so far, but I got the rest of the gears down..

This is like learning to drive all over again.

Nice looking truck, I was looking at some 04 colorados when I got my frontier but none of them had 5 speeds so I had to pass, they were pretty nice tho. Is it 4x4?

Also one thing to note, you may notice a sudden "truck owner popularity" surge where all of a sudden you have new friends who just happen to have furniture and other large items in need of being moved. It took about an hour for it to happen to me when I got my truck.

nice lookin truck!

too bad they dont have the 4300 v6 from the old s10's and blazer's. the trucks could really use some more power.

Nice! My new winter beater is a 1988 Toyota 4Runner SR5. I got it pretty cheap from the original owner. He even had the original window sticker. $19,763 back in 1988! So somebody has to buy my 91 SS454!

Im holding out for the Extreme Colorado. But I plan on finding a late 80's 240GL Volvo Sedan, those thing are freaking indestructable tanks!

Or an older cavalier. I just want something I can drive hard and not give a ****. And donate it when im done.

And thats a very nice Colorado, basic but it gets the job done. Congrats

the 3.5 I-5 makes more power then the 4.3 V6.

Oh man.. Geico saved my financial life today. My insurance company wanted 3107/year.. EVEN THOUGH I DROPPED THE FIREBIRD.. ( , btw)

So I've been shopping around ALL day trying to get a good quote and couldn't find anything under 3k.. some wanted 3k for 6 months alone!!

I finally checked out geico (I was reluctant because last time they were way more expensive than my other insurance agency). And they want 1034 for 6 months of full coverage. I get a discount when I fax them my grades too. Geeze whatta day.
