Dimebag Darrell, former guitarist of Pantera, was shot and killed tonight. What the hell's wrong with this world... Iknow I have personally been listening to his guitar for over... 7 or 8 years now... god damn...

another member of the band was killed as well, although the name hasn't been released yet.
Dimebag was a HUGE influence on me. I used to be in a band, and we played a lot of Pantera songs, either just jamming in the garage or throwing a cover song or two into a show. He was an amazing guitarist and a general all-around badass.
I'm gonna play "Cemetary Gates" in mourning.

I dunno if they just added this recently, but the suspect is named in the article SM first posted.

Though I'm not a huge Pantera fan (or Damageplan either) I was totally shocked when I heard the news on Q104.3 this morning on my drive to work. This is a sad day for metal fans around the world; we lost a helluva musician!
RIP Darrell Abbott, you will be missed.
