Exhaust
Well, I've been eyeing these 2 exhausts for a long time, and now that I've got an exhaust leak (at least one) it's about time I got one. Â*I'm looking for tone mainly, and preferably one that's quiet cruising but loud when I open it up. Â*General consensus seems to be that they're about equal performance wise. Â*I can get both in the 200-225 range (w/o tips for the rumbler tho... eh no biggie), just still can't decide which one.
[Mods: I forgot the maximum poll length, so it's at 0 for now, just let me know what it is.]

0 means no set length...open forever and keep in mind that you will not find a decent sounding exhaust for your car....above 3500 rpms they all sound like crap on a v6 and i've never heard of the tsp rumbler...is it stainless? if not go with the magnaflow...i'd take durability over sound any day

Something didn't look right so I double checked, Magnaflow I can get for $350 for the v6 model or if I wanna go 3" tubing the Z28 model is $320

Im not a big fan of the loud mouth on james car. But with my experience with the magnaflow, it is quiet at idle, and only opens up at WOT or hard acceleration.

a friend of my brother's had the Rumbler on his 99 V6 firebird. It definitely was a little louder than i originally expected at idle and low rpms. If you want a semi-quiet at idle and loud at WOT, id probably suggest the magnaflow.

Yup, mine sounds like a weed wacker
I voted for rumbler due to weight reduction
If you want a nice cat back along w/ sound... edlebrock from summit. I think it is 275?

for weight reduction on a v6 i just say make a shortie setup with a dump in front of the rear axle...i know on my truck the exhaust system i had on there lost like 70lbs from the stock manifolds, stainless ypipe, stock cat, dynomax catback by going to shorty headers, 2 1/2in aluminized ypipe, 3" highflow cat, bullet muffler & a dump before the rear axle...thats alot of weight to save just by going to an exhaust system that would flow a hell of alot of air.

Edelbrock makes a good catback? I've never heard it mentioned.
EDIT
Not stainless... i don't want it rusting thru on me

Would the 3 inch sound better than the 2.5 on my car?
Earlier today me and another frind helped install a 2.5" magnaflow system on my friend's mudstain... sounded pretty good, now I'm wondering if the 3" on my V6 would have a worse sound or cause me to lose torque or anything.

For me... it was a natural progression.....
I used to have 2.5 inch exhaust non mandrel bent.
If I was doing it again for the 1st time... 3 inch mandrel bent.
Get a 3 inch catco high flow cat from summit racing for 47 bux while you do the cat back!

Come on you already know Magnaflow owns your soul. You heard it at Ghettobrook, while releasing some of the smokey white goodness.

just don't end up like all the ricers about the whole weight reduction thing...yea its nice and all unbolting a few things and going a little faster for free...but when they have there g/f sitting on a milk crate with no a/c and i roll up with my stereo, windows and a/c up in a full interiored and full bodied car...and they still know that have no chance...that must suck...lol

alright no more q's here about 2.5" vs 3" ive got that all sorted out. getting 3 inch. One last question, mainly directed to James but other may be able to help. i went over to camarov6.com, looked around and saw that with the 3" system i need to get an s-pipe as well? how much is it, or do i have to have an exhaust shop rig one up for me?
