need vehicle wiring opinions

ok, its a 95 Ford bronco, sorry not fbody this time, anyway...

I bought the truck over the summer after it had suffered a severe engine fire which burnt up just about the entire front half. I have gathered all the needed parts now to finally rebuild it for use as my winter truck, but i am now having a major concern. As i was buying parts and getting info about the bronco, i started to find more and more reports of engine fires in bronco and all f series trucks in the mid 90s. And alot are directly related to 95 and 96 broncos. I'm worried now that with all my work replacing with OEM parts (and wiring) i may just be setting myself up for amother possible fire down the road. Im thinking if i should replace as much of the oem wiring that i can and still have the truck functional to meet my needs. The fires all basically have started in the engine compartment by the main fuse box and relay center. I can get an aftermarket fuse box and wiring harness with enough curciuts to fit the bronco. All i would have to do would splice in the wires for the lights ignition gauges climate controls ETC. not hard at all for me since i am very confident in my wiring problems. I will be starting on this truck in the next 2 weeks so i need to decide this.

OEM as in NOS(new old stock) from 95, or new parts? alot of the time revisions are made and old parts are made obsolete.

oem as in used harnesses. thats my concern...

painless, IMO, is a ripoff. They seem to hold the market on wiring harnesses which i dont like. they want around 300 for basic kit, wheras ive found lesser known brands for like 140. I may still get a painless kit just for the quality which is good. but id have to get a fuse box with enough circuits for all power options(p/w, p/dl, p/m, p/seats,) radio, fog lights, a/c etc. i'm going to chekc there site now and see what they have compared to what i need. right now cost isnt really an issue anymore, i need the wiring and i need it to be safe, so i'm not going to argue.

So far to date i've read of at least 100+ ford 1992-2000 model year broncos/f series going up in flames, 50% due t fse box, 50% due to steering column wiring. And most while parked for several hours... wtf, now thats bad quality.

Just in the last two days, I read articles of an '01 Expedition and '97 F-150 BBQ'ing down in Florida. The F150 owner was lucky, as the truck was outside, but the Expedition fire started while the truck was in the garage and the homeowners were asleep. They got out, but it destroyed everything they had. Both trucks had been off for several hours before the fire started.

I'd go with an aftermarket harness. It would suck to put all that time and effort into the truck and have possibly it fry again.
