Tweels... yeah, not gonna happy for a while. One big problem seems to be the noise. I like the idea but I'm not going to say tires will be replaced all together. Suposedly you just retread them but how in the world are they going to get rid of the noise? Even if these things hit main stream (which I hope they do) there will still be reasons for not using them on race cars. Like dragsters... need the wrinkel and tire pressure to adjust for traction and conditions. I doubt they'll build a "soft" wide wheel for dragsters.
The reason I hope these take off and are sucessful is for our own economy. Right now we're hurting people. The dollar is down and our international trade is still in the slumps. These things would surely help and in a big way. Sometimes it takes the scare of going bankrupt for a company to take a chance and inovate... I think GoodYear is about to kick the bucket. Notice how many blimps they've got flying around.... yeah, and I personally know guys that quit from engineering jobs within GoodYear.
