...mustang drivers...why?

i'll never understand them. Tonight i went out for a little drive, rt 4 up 208, through hawthorne towards ramsey, rt 17 south.. ok so thats where it began,... I'm rolling along in the slow lane doing about 50mph in 5th gear(nice and quiet, lol), like i was doing all of 17, i pass the GSP and it goes to two lanes so i move over, just then a 99+ mustang GT rolls past me and gets about a fender past me and slows down, the passenger is practically hanging out the window staring at my headlights then at me, i didnt really care about a stang so i pretended i didnt notice, The driver reved it up, obviously manual and it did soud pretty badass, i didnt hear any blower whine so i knew it wasnt a cobra, but def. a gt with mods. so anyway they drop back and i speed up a little, i get over to the left lane a start doing about 65 now, they stayed right behind me, now i knew they wanted to play. The exit onto rt 80 comes up so i figure what the hell, i get off and they follow, as i get onto rt80 i just lay into and put a good distance on them and then i stay in the slow lane and slow back down to about 55. The come up fast and i expected them to do a ricer flyby, but he got hard on the brakes and got even with me, two lanes over. i look over and the paseneger is signaling to me that on the count of 3, we're going. i didnt have much time to think, i got in the middle lane and he starts counting, i'm in 4th and go to 3rd but silly me i go to 5th, and well i went no where. they got about 2 car lengths and realized i didnt go so they dropped back again, this time on 3 i was ready, we were at about a 55mph roll, he got off first, but only about a second. i dropped to 3rd and punched it and spun a lil, then i pulled away easily, the passenger was shocked, my car has an exhaust leak and with the ORY-pipe and flowmaster, it sounds sick at WOT now. i shifted to 4th and put a little more distance on them,(i could clearly see his headlights and fogs in my rear veiw mirror) i slowed down for him and we set up again, this time like 40 mph, the pass says 3 and they are off, i drop to 3rd but change my mind and grab 2nd and dump it, i stay at his rear 1/4 for about a second while my tires spin, then im off,He shifted to his next gear when my window was at his headlight but i was still pulling away, i then grabbed 3rd, spun again, and increased my gain, even at 4th i spun the tires and got a little loose, i put like 3 car lengths on him and shut down. by then i think he realized he lost, but he was cool about it, i then made my own way to the teaneck rd exit towards home, and he went towards rt46. fun night, but i cant understand why mustang drivers always wanna race...i am not one for street racing but if a oppurtunity arises and i get provoked enough, who am i to turn it down... oh yeah, street racing is illegal and you should not do it.

im pretty sure it was white. i didnt pay much attention to it to look for any decals of specific parts but i dont think it was silver

Nice kill! I remember back in October right after I got my headers and exhaust done I was on my way home from school. I was at this light that is 2 lanes, merges into 1 on the other side. Some chick with her b/f in the pass. seat pulled up in a white mustang GT Auto, also 99+. It was probably bone stock. So she inches up to line up. Light changed, we both went..at the time I had header leaks, just liker you, at WOT it did sound like a beast lol So we were kinda tied off the line (damn 2.77's) and I floored it and I just saw her look over at me like "wtf?" cuz of the sound and I pulled on her at powerband lol
