Just bought an engine...

Yup, another might 3800. The plans are for a strictly N/A build (crazy cam and built heads and intake are definitely in order). I probably won't start working on it until Fall at the earliest. Stay tuned.

trying to make the V6 power adder crowd even more crazy by actually doing engine work?
considering you are already faster than most head and cam and power adder cars with just externals, i can't wait to see where this goes

They do have a 4.1 stroker kit, however it is a reground stock crank and I have been lead to believe that it would be inadvisable to use it. Also it is rather costly ($1500) which includes rods and pistons.

the stroker kit from ZZperformance is fine, but it isn't strong enough to stand up to forced induction or nitrous. For an N/A motor, though, it would be perfect.

What stroker crank are the turbo Buick guys running? They make tons of power so I'd think the stuff would be reliable.

I don't think any of the series I and series II parts swap.

Can't wait for this buildup Craig....next season will be even more fun than this one

craig and i have been talking about how it would be cool to build a motor for a while. i hope it is something he can get to at the end of the season. with how quickly he is making progress already i can't even imagine where he will end up with a built motor, 10's? maybe even 9's?

i dont know, the fastest to date ive heard of for the 3.8 fbody was low 11s, and that was with dumping a ****load of money into the motor, so i dont know if he can reach lower than that or else hed break a record.

Are you talking about Shirl? She's got nitrous and a blower on a car that weighs 3800 lbs and has next to nothing for suspension prep. It's a show car.

I wouldn't add a couple hundred hp....remember, this is going to be an all out N/A motor. It will be interesting to see how it sounds once the cam and heads are done....nice lopey v6 idle

a couple hundred is pushing it, but an additional 100-125 woudl be easy with a matched head and cam motor. that woudl prolly be enough to push teh car to mid 12's as it sits right now, much less the way the rest of teh combo will be by the time the motor is prepared.
