Pics of the 72 RS
My brother and I started out early this morning, around 6am. We went to pick someone up, but that person was cranky and didnt want to go....you know who you are....
ANYWAY....
Twas a fun trip out to the middle of no where. Tons of traffic on the Penn Pike, and finding out how fast my car can decelerate from 90 to 70 in front of State troopers. Also saw a CTS-V in black. Very cool....
Anyway, we got there and the car is in decent shape. I had expected the car to be kept pretty much stock...till I opened the hood and I realize now where this car enthusiats comes from. Seems as if my grandfather has already taken the pleasure of upgrading to a HEI ignition, Edelbrock aluminum intake with Edelbrock 4bbl carb with electric choke.
Also, there seems to be an odd fuel filter and also my grandfathers special oil system which I thought was very cool (you dont need oil filters anymore).
So without further interuptions....here she is.

Looks pretty solid. That should be a cool car to play around with. Man, I hate seeing AC on some of these older cars, it clutters up the engine compartment so much. And it's a lovely shade of green!

Actualy, the green color is very nice.
The car needs a very good, deep cleansing with a clay bar.
It also is gunna need springs, shocks, tires, tune up, oil change, and then primed to drive it home. If not, I have to flat bed that baby all the way home.

Well, it would take a lot to get it driveable. I would have to get leaf springs for the rear, as well as replace the shocks, tires and change oil with tune up. I would also have to prime the engine to get the oil around the engine.
I want to drive it, but it looks like I might not be able too. But a flat bed would cost me mucho dollars that could go twards stuff for the car. I need to figure this out before May!!!

Find somebody with a pickup and rent a tow dolly. Â*Or bug Pampered-Z, I think he has an empty trailer sitting at his house in PA and maybe he'll deliver it for you. Â*Buy him a case of beer or a case of Geritol!

Are the srings completely dead or could you baby it home with new shocks? The engine stuff should be pretty easy to take care of.

Unless my grandfather also lowerd the car....a decent amount, I would assume that the car would bounce off every single bump in the road. It would be one hell of a ride home. I would also have to put tires on her, but I would probably put the 87 up in the air, use thoes tires and rims, and then be able to take her home that way.

Nice!!!
I've owned a few 2nd Gens before. When those rear leaf springs and shocks are shot, the car will bottom out...alot.

Nice car Al! Looks like it's in pretty good shape too.
I'd say borrow or rent a truck, and rent a tow dolley from like U-Haul (I did this twice and if you can find a place other than U-Haul do it cuz they aren't very reliable). If you rent/borrow a truck and a dolley, make sure all the electrical stuff is working cuz the rental place will check. If they ask what yer towing, tell em like a Yugo or sumthin cuz they calculate the weight and if you are even a little too close to the max they wont rent to you.
