car recommendations
I have an Evo and my fience has a Miata, so naturally, we're looking into another vehicle within the next year or so. I would like her to have AWD and be an automatic(she can't drive stick& i need a break from it now and then), so another EVO/STi/R32/Mazdaspeed6 are out of the question. She doesn't wan a SUV and she's not to keen on the WRX, kinda likes the Saab 92X.
I was thinking of the new Volvo V50 T5 AWD. All my past experiences with Volvos have been very positive. I know they're not the company they used to be, but they're still pretty good.
any input would be appreciated!
and I know...but MY next car will be an F-body or LS2 GTO(or EVO whatever number they're up to )

Depending on A) How much you want to spend and B) If/how much work you want to do to it, I'd say either the Audi A4 or S4. If you go with a pre-owned '02 S4, it comes with the 2.7 twin turbo V6 and you can call up the Germany office to get the K04 turbos and intercoolers and have a nice 400hp AWD street car and the new turbos not only don't void your warranty, but since they are official Audi parts, they too are covered. Just an idea.

Volvo S60R. AWD, turbo'd, making somewhere around 300 hp at the crank. slightly slower than a BMW M3, i believe, and just as safe as all the other Volvos.
or try and find a Typhoon/Syclone.

I thought of that, but I can't afford $38K. I would love a Sy/Ty, but the we both have to compromise just to make sure I don't get an 05 GTO and she doesn't go overboard and get a 320 series Mercedes sedan($38K would be better spent on the Volvo, and that's before AWD!)

The 500 uses Volvo's S80 chassis. The 3.0 Duratec engine is some major weaksauce. 200hp to move an AWD 2 ton mega sedan.
9-2x is hotness...do it!!

while I can hardly disagree, wait, what am i saying? of course i can disagree!
I think the 9-2X may be it, but I'm dreading getting a turbo with an auto...can we say "horrible lag"? I mean the EVO has the worst lag ever, but I can do the launch correctly.

I would assume the lancer would have much more lag then the saab...the saab isnt necessarily geared completely towards performance and probably uses a rather small turbo.

The "Saab" is a stock WRX with a different nose and some badgework....

And updated interior, with different suspension set up that is tuned differently then the WRX's, as well as a handful of other things.

Pardon my lack of detail....I just meant that it will have the same powertrain characteristics as a WRX.
