stumble on startup

once in a while, when i start the car when its somewhat hot (maybe sitting 15 mins after driving) itll just stumble when i first try to start it, so i turn the key back and then try to start it again, and it starts up fairly quickly. would this just be starter heat-soak or something? thats my best guess.

is it cranking and then stumbling once it catches or just tripping over itself to even get going?

tripping over itself to even get going, it feels like its running on like 2 cylinders so i stop cranking it. then i try again and it starts fine, and it always seems to start fine when its cold that ive noticed.

almost sounds like the fuel pump isn't going through it's priming cycle when you first hit it. GM pump shave a fairly common drain back problem where they don't hold all the fuel in the line like they should.
turn the key and listen for it priming before you start it. if it is overly loud or takes a whiel to prime it is jsut a drain back problem

true, but this would happen every time you tried to start the car. Also, it most likely would happen when the car is cold, not warm.
