In high school I learned to drive in the snow with my 89 firebird. It helped that it was a 2.8l car with no balls, and I threw a transmission in the hatch, which seemed to help as well, and of course the full tank of gas. I have a 94 blazer 4x4 I picked up for 1200 bucks that is now the DD. You can find beater s/10s and blazers for next to nothing if you want to spare your f-car.

The news last night said we could end up with as much as 12inches of snow this weekend, good luck!!

For the past 3 years yes. Really fun for us first genners with no AC to help with the defroster.

i drove my 86 in the snow when i first bought it, and by drive i mean slide all over the place, when the car would actually move. It was kinda funny, i would back it out of the garage, and as soon as the tires hit the snow, the car would stop moving and the tire, yes tire, would just spin. I could get out and watch it. It was rather pathetic. I wised up and bought a truck .

I can remember on day back in the early 90's when I had to drive my '80 Formula from Phillipsburg to Morristown in a blizzard. The reason that I even attempted this was because it was my first day at a new job and I didn't want to call off. I made it down Rt 78 and had just got on Rt 287 only to find it was closed because of a bad accident. I decided to head back home before it was to late. I got back on Rt 78 West and by this time we had about 10 inches of snow on the ground. The highway was completely covered and there was not a soul going my way so I decided to have some fun. I stopped in the middle of Rt 78 and did donuts for about 5 minutes!! It was great and I will always remember that day. To get back on the subject - I would recommend a good set of snow tires and as much weight as you can get over the rear wheels for driving your F-body in the snow.

tire width can make a substantial difference in snow & wet traction.

I drive mine all year every year for the past 10 years. Had a 2nd Gen then a 3rd and now a 4th gen. This will be the last year though since I bought a 95 jetta for a DD I'm taken the SS off the rd. for a few years to save a little cash. I should be building up my Cutlass and when thats done I'll put the Camaro back on the road.

My 2000 SS is my daily driver but those 275 tires and no traction control make it impossible to drive in the snow. My old supercharged 93 Z28 was pretty bad as well, but not as bad as the SS because the 93 had the 245 tires. These cars probably wouldn't be too bad with some sort of 215 snow tire, but no way I'm gonna drive on 215 snow tires when the roads are fine and I'm not going to be swapping around wheels/tires every time the weather looks bad. I can work from home when it snows like today. I also have a ton of time saved up so I'll just take a personal or vacation day if I need to.

Jeff, you could probably run 235/55/16 snows. 4 $20 salad shooters & 4 decent snows & you are ready for a few years of snow!

Well the past weekend. Friday and tuesday I worked 2pm to ten pm so I was always in the brunt of the storm. I had to take the pike home. Longest drive ever. I could not get over 20 mph. I finally got home with out any problems. Hope everyone is smart and staying off the rds

Winter tires will make a huge difference. But unless you get some performance winter tires don't expect the car to be too much fun when its dry out.

If you drive regularly in the snow you need a different set of wheels and tires than your spring/summer set up. Period

I put dumbbells in the trunk. Total of 170 pounds added weight, My rear squats and it lifts the front up to keep the air damn from hitting the snow packs on the ground.
