Thanks guys, I am not sure what I want to do, right now I am going to get my dads Challenger ready to go just in case I cant have the Chevelle ready. I need a break from that car its just driving me nuts. I dont want to rush the Chevelle anymore and wind up breaking something or not doing the job the right way. Atleast if I have the other car ready to go, I can get back to the Chevelle and if by some stroke of luck that gets done, I can take it.

Have you tried slipping the trans in without the TO bearing and clutch fork in there? If you can get it in all the way seated then you know the issue is with the TO bearing, clutch fork or pivot ball. I think GM had 2 different pivot balls over the years so you might want to check that as well.

I tried to slip it in with just a flywheel and the pilot-worked fine- Tried to slip it in with JUST clutch and pressure plate with no luck. That was no bell, no fork, nothing.

You didn't somehow put the clutch disk in backwards did you? I'm still not sure what could possibly stop the trans from going all the way in unless the clutch has the wrong # of splines or is defective. The old clutch I pulled out of the SS396 had some weld repairs done to the tabs that hold the springs in place and one of them made contact with something.
