Talking Ran my LS6 WS6 at E-town...I'm pretty pleased

Took my 98 T/A to E-town tonight...this weather was too good to miss out on.

First off, I didn't want to go 100% balls out because I'm scared of the stock rear, to the point that I almost didn't even run. But I figured ***** it. That said, I think I did ok. Here's how the night went, my mods are in my sig and I was running 18" drag radials @ 16psi.

Run 1(Me vs Vtec, LOL): nerves shot and 1st time ever at the track with a stick. I wasn't sure how hard to launch, but I figured 3k would be ok...turns out it wasn't. The KDW drag radials gripped like a BITCH! It stuck and bogged so hard it almost stalled. 2.0 60' and I ran a 12.7@113, not horrible I guess but I was pissed. Don't know where Vtec was but it ran a 15...

Run 2(vs 70 Chevelle SS): after calming down and saying a little prayer before the launch I left at close to 3500. It bogged again but not nearly as bad as the first run. The slight bog led to another 2.0 60' and the chevelle raping me from the tree but I snuck past him to a 12.48@114.23, vs his 13.0@102...quick car for 4000lbs, looked stock too!!

Run 3: (vs base C6 Vette...let the fun begin): This was my haymaker, for tonight anyway. I said at the beginning of the night I'd be happy with 12.4, and 12.48 was .08 too high for my liking. I finally decided to push the rear a little harder and let out at 3500+, THAT was the magic number!! It launched hard as hell and destroyed the vette start to finish! I went 12.34@114.26 with a 1.89 60' against his 12.9@113. I'm fairly happy...next comes a 12 bolt and some 11's.

I'd like to see a vid of my 3rd launch, wish I had someone with a camera with me...hopefully it looked badass. LOL!

not bad, i am running a comparable setup, just cammed, but not using drag radials, just real bald street tires. got 12.7s. also im still on the stock ls1 tune.

edit: after reading your post again and seeing a 2.0 60'... i guess i need slicks, i was putting down 2.4 60" with a high 12s trapping around 116.... lol

who wants to tune me? hahahaha

Thanks guys!

Yea larry, it's kicking some ass but not nearly enough, lol.

Yesterday lit a fire under my ass, I have to get the stang moving...just did the alternator and tie rod ends today. It's still not charging so I have to figure out what that's about, do the carpet and hook up all the gauges and then we'll have a new loud car at the meet thursday. Who knows...if the other matt will sell me his tires maybe I'll grow a pair and try to see what 10's looks like on a nearly stock mustang 5 speed.
