LS1's have a different note, but agreed...they sound rough on both cars. LS1's a bit more raspy compared to the LT1's deeper tone.

sounds ok with stock manifolds on an LS1. I think idle sounds better on the LT1, but WOT is better on the LS1. obnoxious on both.

This man speaks the truth...

LS1 with a catless y and longtubes is like a nascar starting up...

It sounds a ton better on a LT1 IMO. I think it sounds like complete ass on a LS1.

yea its seems to me those 4in bore SBCs just have a more ummm....beastly sound. the LS based engines with exaust mods have a generally higher note with a tad more rasp, still sexy but not as. thats just my opinion...Gen I FTW

Pretty much anything sounds better on Gen1/2 small blocks than on the Gen3+ engines. The LS platform is just raspy. Combination of firing order and head design changed everything.
