Crank/balancer bolt
Is there any way to get it off/on without an air gun?

It would have to be a high end electric gun to move a crank bolt.

And last time I checked snap on is a high end brand.
I used a 1/2 snap on electric for mine.

what he said ^
they have a tool for holding the flywheel actually, and its quite nifty. i have one if you need to borrow it, it works 88x better than a pry bar, and wont go flying off.

I don't think many battery powered impacts will get it, if memory serves it is like 250 FT LBS with a but-load of loctite on it. Can you get a good pnuematic impact?

Fidget holding onto a breaker bar while someone bumps the starter = we'd see Super Fidget flying through the air with the greatest of ease

yep, grow some man muscles!
in all seriousness, you're gonna need to keep the flexplate from spinning and use one long ass breaker bar.

its up in the 200ft lb range, but after you do that, youre supposed to remove and throw that bolt out and install a new bolt @ 35 ft lbs or something way less than 200s

GM says torque the old bolt to 240lb/ft, to ensure the balancer is fully seated then remove old bolt and install the new bolt. Torque new bolt to 37lb/ft then an additional 140*
I found that the last 140* is way tighter than my 1/2 impact (625lb/ft) can do. Use blue loctite and get it as tight as you can!

Somehow I doubt they do that from the factory, and the it is 35 Ft LBS + 140 degrees of turn, it is up there.
