				Damn Mercedes technology!

Ok.... if there is no one in the front seat (due to lack of weight) the passenger side air bag is turned off/ you also don't need to have the seat belt clicked on.

When you get to a certain weight... the passenger side air bag becomes active and it searches for a locked seat belt.

The weight of a couple shirts and a 10 lb nitrous bottle w/ 6 lbs of nitrous is enough to get a reading...... so the entire way to a local shop the car was beeping and yelling at me because I refused to click the seat belt on.

btw..... hi craig

The 2005 Toyota Camry does that as well. My laptop in the leather bag sets off the sensor as well. Very annoying.
</looks longingly at the Trans Am> Such simple technology.

haha i had the same thing happen to me in my dads 05 Silverado over the weekend. I had my helmet (from friday night at atco) and a bunch of tools in a plastic bag on the front seat and i couldnt figure out why it was telling me to have the passenger fasten their seatbelt.
