yeah the biggest down pipe i can fit on the car is 3 inch,so i see no benifit in running 3 inch halfway to the back and switchng to a larger pipe,as far as getting ti installed i have a tubing bender, and everything i need to make my own pipes, though im gonna redo the ex system with all madrel bends and make it piece by piece,im still unsure about the spintechs i do love the way they sound.but they are sorta chambered i quess,so i may just go with the dynomax,i fogot about magnaflow.and the one kasey ha son his car sounds pretty dam good.though my last option.is gonna be to put a bullet muffler in the stock cats location and run no muffler.
anyone ever heard a moroso spiral flow muffler? looks like something that may keep the car quiet and not hurt flow to much

im not against chambered mufflers at all.its that on a turbo charged car they create to much back preasure in the ex system.generally u want the least bit posable with a turbo.thats why most guys run like a 2-3 ft down pipe with no muffler.but this being a street/strip car has to have one. i already tried to run no muffler it was way to friggen loud

if you read the testimonials on spintechs website, you'd see that a lot of guys actually picked up some HP when they went from open pipes to spintechs.

“…so I see no benefit in running 3 inch halfway to the back and switching to a larger pipe…”. I think you are right – the exhaust gasses cool as they flow down the system – becoming less dense. So I see no benefit in larger down stream pipes. I bet slightly smaller pipes would have zero impact.

However that also means it contracts effectively taking up less room.

As for muffles, I would go with Borla, Dynomax Ultraflows, or Magnaflow.

i took a better look at the spintech stuff and the way they are designed dosent look liek it would create the backpreasure the flowmaster does so im gonna give them a shot.more so just cause they have a really nice sound compared to anything else.It looks liek im gonna go with 2 spintechs.im gonna split the pipe were it comes over the rear.the spintechs fit perfectly on each side,im hoping the dual mufflers will keep things nice an quiet but still sound good.though if that turns out to be to much of a pain in the ass im just gonna get a spintech single in and dual out and run 2 tail pipes out the drivers side.
