NON-Rant!
I'm a happy member of this board! Drank a few glasses of amaretto and orange juice, and am staring at a stack of new parts for the Jeep - 4 Bilsteins, two Brutestop rotors, Raybestos ceramic brake pads, and a bunch of Moog swaybar bushings and endlinks.

I'm also happy. I was taking my motor apart and I dropped a piston and it broke. now I have a legit excuse to get some new forged slugs

Nice! I won't ask, just in case it involves illegal things. My goods are legal, since the wife/kids are sleeping and I'm old.

Sahweet! Course, you're gonna need a forged crank and good rods to hang them on, too.

Well, how ridiculous a motor are you building? I think stock re-sized rods with ARP bolts and a stock ground/polished crank are good to @400 hp, from what I've heard.
Way to hijack my own thread LOL!

the stock crank better hold up to more than 400...otherwise I might have to pony up and get a forged piece
I dont plan on making much more than 400 at the crank, hell I dont even know if I'll make 400, but thats kinda the area that I'm shooting for. I'm at least getting new rod bolts if I dont get new rods all together. the mains are gonna be studded, so that should help a little...one broken piston and suddenly a re-ring job turns into a project...
ut oh...forged con rods for 200 bucks! Scat pieces too!

I was real happy until an hour ago.
Front clip is coming together. Thanks B64C for the fender alignment assistance!
Yup, that's the yoke off my rear axle. Book calls for 70 lbs, this broke at less then 40. Dammit.
But I am happier I got the broken part out (I knew those extractors would come in handy some day), and I am now drinking Magic Hat HIPA, so my happiness should return...
