No plate here, have gotten two tickets for it but honestly I'm not drilling holes into my grill and it does help getting you out of other tickets if you get pulled over.....

^^^ wouldn't that give a cop an excuse to check your car out and give you other tickets??...why would not having a front license plate prevent cops from ticketing you for let's say a broken tail light or open headers or something?

i got a sliding plate mounted to the underside of the front..can hide it or show it anytime that way. i recomend you do the same, its the best of both worlds.

its not automated/remote if ur thinking that...(just wanted to be clear). its manual. so the plate sits on bracket the hides under the ground effects..and if i want to show it, i can pull it out (it slides forward on a spring), then the plate pops up in front of the lower ground effect.
when you dont want it to show, just fold it down and push back under the car. like magic. lol
i dont have pics, i can take a few though if you'd like. i bought it for $45 from Altec. I think their website is altecproducts.com

the first 6 or 8 months i had my car i ran it without the front plate. i'm in bergen county too. always on 208/287 and 23. didn't get pulled over for it once.
for the winter i just put it back on because i knew my car would be filthy and look like crap anyway. still have it on just because i've been getting more and more dirty looks, probably just because my exhaust is kinda loud. when i put cats on, the plate will come off.

wow, I'm surprised to hear that. I spend 90% of my highway time on 208, 287 & 23, so that's good news for me.

yup i have the same one as formulalt1...its a good unit and works very well.
FYI- they do sell automated ones...which i thought about getting it when i was looking for a hide-a-plate style bracket.. but they run between 150-200... and i just cant justify spending that type of money on a plate bracket when 200 can go to much more useful things i wanna do to the care ya know?

I have seen write ups of people just buying 20 - 30 dollar universal power antenna kits and making then automated. I thought the same thing when I looked into mine and the automated one's.
