But but but they're spending a million dollars an hour to ensure we're safe and their quality is top notch.

I wouldn't doubt the general public thinks so.

GM dropped the ball again???
Ford is dominating the camaro vs stang vs challenger in marketing
Dodge is following in 2nd with the recent cool commercials
Camaro is non existent.... you can't even really say the one with Tony is for the camaro... isn't it for some cleaning product? All I remember from the commercial is Tony had a couple shiney cars in it

the mustang owns the new camaro in every segment. this reminds me of the late 90s when all you saw was mustang commercials and never an fbody one, well maybe one rarely but damn gm sucks. they couldnt even sell a new camaro to al.

A lot of it is market areas. GM seems to be doing well here, but in a full year in Kansas City, I only saw two new Camaros. It's all Mustangs and Ford and Dodge trucks. Hell, I think I only saw under a dozen F-Bodies total out there.

Didn't read many of the posts, but look at the Lexus commercials. I've seen the LFA one (their new $370k supercar) more times than I can count. They're not actually trying to sell that specific car, just the brand.

Yeah, but based on Camaro's sales numbers...doesnt seem like dealers are having to tough time selling them.

That's funny that you mention that though, the Chevy dealer close to me has had the same 6 Camaro's on his lot for the last 6 months, maybe they're not budging on the price?
I think the point some of us are trying to make is why rest now? Sure, sales are good because it's a new car...that will fizzle...why need keep up the buzz?

Not saying that they wont, Im sure we will see more and more, but its really a matter of importance.
What is more important right now? Trying to increase Buick's traffic and get people to realize the new Regal, or spend that money on telling people the Camaro is a muscle car. Thats one thing I find funny about people's attraction to the Mustang or Challenger commercials. The Challenger one is...well...odd?
Mustang commercial is good, and drives home the new V6, not the 5.0. I dont think you will see much of a 5.0 commercial from Ford.
I think with the new guy in charge of marketing, we are gunna see a much different approach to commercials. The guy they hired, he had been approached by GM before, but Joel Ewanick wanted total control of GM's marketing, with no one else's hands in it. He was actually hired by Nissan and worked there for less then a month till GM caved and told him he could have total control, and he came on board and started to fix everything that was fugged up before he got there.
Joel Ewanick is the guy that led Hyundai and Kia into two of teh fastest growing brands in the world.

Corvette is GM flagship car. The Camaro may be selling well now and have a ton of history but i'm pretty sure the Corvette wouldn't get discontinued for 8 years.

Time will tell I guess. The pony war has been reignited IMO...GM gave Ford a nice jab to the chops and Ford gave one right back with the '11 Mustang. I just hope GM doesn't rest since the Camaro is on top for now, mark my words...the new Mustang WILL eat into Camaro sales soon...
Al, what kind of incentives is GM giving, if any, on the new Camaro? Ford is doing 0% on the Mustang.

i think gm's jab back is.....z28
and here's this http://www.camaro5.com/camaro-commercial
i think gm is trying to represent themselves as a family company though with a family of cars. thats why they show most of their models in most of their commercials. most car companies have been doing this too. just an observation.

At the Cobra, sure....not at the GT or V6.
You're right about your other point. For a car that got so much buzz and now a ton of factory support I'd just like to see a bit of advertisement that's all....getting tired of seeing the damn Mustang commercials lol

I drove today from my house in Blackwood NJ to a lab in Allentown PA to a hospital in Hershey PA and now just got home. I saw 13 New camaros and 4 new Mustangs on the road. No challengers.
If I were to sell a car I think I would rather have it star in 2 of the biggest movies of the past decade then to have it on TV. People will remember the camaro more for it being in the Transformers movies then being in a comercial. Thats just my opinion. I know pretty much every show I watch I DVR it so I skip the comercials. I havent watched a comercial since the superbowl.

Odd? No. Unique? Yes. When you think about the Revolution, what do you feel? Pride and honor to be an American. What was the Revolution about? Freedom. What do pony/muscle cars represent? Freedom and the American spirit. You don't even see the car until halfway through the commercial. All those emotions are stirred and then get translated to the Challenger...emotions that Americans haven't felt for American cars in a long time.

in all honesty its GM repeatring itself. the camaro is priced above the mustang again, its gotten less commercial time again.
if GM really wants the camaro to take off they need to find a way to make it a little cheaper, within the sticker price of the mustang. i remember looking at an 05 mustang GT (back in 05) with minimal frills. i think the only options it has was power windows locks and the mach 460 sound system and it was going for 24,900.
i know the prices have come up but lets face it, the 2012 mustang is going to have the same numbers, the same trans options, and a cheaper price tag.
I think GM shuld have went back to the F-body platform instead of borrowing the GTO platform. IFS is what is driving the price up. if i could get a no frills camaro SS for around or under 28k i would buy it. and so would a lot of other people. now yes they are selling like hot cakes for the most part. lets just remember its first year hype. it what happens next year thats really going to decide the fate of the camaro. GM needs to bring down the price and advertise it. to me the camaro is way more desireable then a mustang...but not everyone can afford that extra 4 or 5 grand

Camaro has no incentives or any special pricing. Most of GM's new cars have nothing on the hood, and they are moving very well.

That is a big stretch. Rockets and Corvette, thats cool. But having George Washington drive into battle in a Challenger...the only emotion it spurs in me is humor.
A car build by a division who is owned by an Italian company, who builds the cars in Canada...dont feel a lot of "American" in it, sorry.
I like the Jeep Grand Cherokee commercial better.

Now look at the Mustang GT. Starts at 30k, like the Camaro SS.
Camaro is taking off, and beat out the Mustang in sales. Now that Mustang has 0% and some cash on the hood, they are selling out of all thier left over 2010's.

IFS is driving the price up? Camaro has always had IFS. I believe you mean IRS.
You cant get into a bare bones Mustang GT with a solid rear for 28k.
Camaro does not need to be dropped in price. For the equipment you get in the SS, its a great deal.
