Did it have anything to do with drag radials and rain? Love the color good choice on not changing it! Good luck, you have your hands full.

The third weekend of may.. I didnt post anything about it here but on facebook I did..

Yep, replacing the carpet, had to fix a few rust issues and yep. It is easier to take out the inteior to do the work that I need to do than to try and cover it up. This way, all I'll have to do is mask off the dash and windsheild.

For ****s and giggles.. Missing a quarter..

Man, my 82 had a buckle like that when I got it. It took a trip to the frame machine to fix it.

Cause I had to park it on the street for a bit. Didnt want to much crap from the cops if they said anything about having a non-tagged car parked on the street..

Scot, it took me a come-a-long and a tape measure to pull it back straight. It was about a 1/4 inch off. Once it was back where it was, then I cut off the quater. So far everything is lining up pretty damn good. Gotta love redneck engineering. lol

On the stripe color, I did the flake/pearl coats, and covered it in clear. Wet sanded that and brroke through a few spots to the black base...

Before when I did the car, I just sprayed the copper right over the black base with no problems. I suppose when ya clear over it, and break back through it changes or something chemically. Anyways, when the copper was sprayed over the black base, it reactivated it, and wrinkled the copper. Reason being DBC (base coat/color) never cures like a epoxy primer, 2k primer or a clear......

Two fixes that I didn't know about before spraying the copper, (I do now......), is to primer back over sanded through spots or add a activator to the DBC to well cure it so it doesn't reactivate like that....

Oh well live and learn.
