Lost my only set of keys :(

What do I need to do. Call a locksmith or go to GM?

Call a locksmith, I used CLC in Cinnaminson when mine got stolen.

Lose door and ignition? Do you still have VATS? If so, they will need to go though and find the resistance value with a machine. I think its one of 26 options.

GM. Give them the vin number and get proof of ownership and they might be able to make keys.

A locksmith can program that.

Dealer would prob be cheaper than a locksmith. You should just bypass the vats too or tune it out. It probably is tuned out with your swap.

You can tune out the pellet but you will still have some VATS functionality.

^this, i tuned it out since the key was dying, and the security light still flashes on start-up and stuff. i would say dealer, locksmiths like to kinda back you into a corner sometimes

Its an ls1 swap and a 95 car IIRC. 96+ used the bcm for the other part of the vats system you guys are talking about. The earlier cars used the pcm which you can tune out.

Don't want to get too far off-topic, but isn't the 1995 TDR independent of the PCM, which is why it can't be tuned out? I dunno. I thought so.

The theft deterrent module looks for the key resistor to then ground the theft deterrent relay for starter operation. The pcm does the enabling of the injectors via a signal from the tdm but this can be tuned out. Pcm4less did it on mine and I grounded my relay for starter operation. The TDM is part of the bcm in the 96-97 cars.

I guess I'm just being a picky bitch, but the VATS delete isn't done until you ground the relay as well. Nothing to do with the key though.

Yeah if you want to eliminate the tdm completely, you'd have to ground the relay.

Locksmith is wayyyy expensive. When I lost my keys I called every locksmith within my area and all of them said minimum $60-70. I went to the dealership with proof of ownership and they cut me an ignition key and passenger key (GM keys that look identical) $26 for the pair.
