2 magazines conducted several tests to find the better lid... and so happened MTI was the best in both. Not by much tho, thats why I got me an MTI Lid... I did my research beforehand. Im pretty sure it was Chevy Perfomance and HPP

check out the sticky on ls1tech.com.... basically it says a lid is a lid is a lid... personally i have the slp lid cuz i picked it up for 20 bucks off a friend who wrecked his 2001 camaro and bought a silvy ss in its place and had no need for it... but if i was buying one id buy either slp or mti because supposedly they fit the tightest

SLP Blackwing (OEM on 2002 SS and Firehawks) are the best. They flow great better molding and don't rub the hood.

Would I call slp for one or have to find one off a wrecked car?

SLP does not make them anymore, best bet is to keep your eye on Ebay for one.
