yea, that was years ago that happened. Ive had AOL since dinosaurs roamed the earth. I started on a 14.4k modem ( high speed back then) and sat through the dark ages when all you got was a busy signal.

In retrospec ..... should have cancelled it from the first minute.

I had AOL from 4.0 until just as 7.0 was coming out. Then I went broadband and never looked back.

PS - That call was pretty funny. It was on Digg.com last week.

What is up with AOL?? They did **** to me like 3 years ago. I finally got cable connection and I try to can the AOL account because at the time the new version wouldnt let you stay on for more than 20 min while online gaming. I took down all the info that they gave me and then charged me for an extra 3 months and "better" connecting modem. I got on the phone with them, i actually made them put a supervisor on and I threated to take them to court and after about 2 hours of arguing with them, I got my money refunded for almost the whole year, along with the cost of the modem. Got I hate AOL lol

Did you actually read that from somewhere, or are you just guessing based on the conversation?

If you are just guessing, I'm gonna have to say you are wrong. AOL will go to great lengths to keep you from cancelling your account, because they aren't getting ***** for new subscribers these days. I prolly know at least a dozen people (including myself) that have had experiences like this dealing with AOL.

I know all my friends had AOL. Then cancelled it due to college, they had broadband, broadband was getting more available around here. Then AOL tried to be swift about AOL for broadband. What alot of people didnt realize that you had to have broadband from some other ISP, so you had to pay for a broadband ISP and then high speed AOL which was 25 bucks on top of what you are already paying for broadband. It was such a scam when they did that call back to you when you cancel the account. I got my call back like 4 months after my incident and what i mentioned above was said to me. After that I hung up. Such scam artests AOL. I hope they all rot in hell.
