some small appearance mods

I filled in the holes from the license plate bracket, painted it gloss black, then painted the outline of the bowtie grey. I also painted the mesh for the scoop on the hood gloss black. The mesh is suppose to screw into the fiberglass behind the initial opening but since I cut that fiberglass out to make the hood functional I had to come up with another way. I was able to rig up metal brackets that catch the lip and as I tightened down the screws it pulled the bracket closer and basically pinched the outer opening, holding it in place. I think I like the scoop without the mesh though, so we'll see if it stays or not. What do you guys think?

Before:

After:

I also ditched the blackouts, wetsanded the taillights with 2000, and buffed/polished them with the wheel

I like the new more subtle bow tie that matches the wheels, but the verdict isn't in yet on the lights, I like them dark. You going to smoke them or something else instead of the blackouts?

I like the screens painted black....the whole front end looks cleaner now.

Tails are in great shape, I think a few light coats of nightshades are in order

Thanks. I'm thinking of either making the amber red, using a light coat of niteshades for a smoked look, or just leaving them.

IMO it would look awesome if you change that amber to red.
The bumper looks great, nice work.

Nicest IROC I've ever seen.

Not kidding, and I've seen a lot of them. Very nice car, Ted.

Thanks Billy, means a lot Thanks to everyone else as well, looks like the verdict is to smoke the taillights. Now I'll have to decide to either smoke them the way they are or make the amber red, then smoke them. Ideas?

Well, if you smoke them lightly after painting the amber red, that should mask any slight difference in the reds.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Thanks Jon! and everyone else for their input. I want them similar to this, probably one coat lighter, but I'm gonna clear them after so they are shiny and flat:

Ted, that looks awesome!! If it were my car, I'd paint the ambers red first, and then mix up some clear with just a few drops of black paint in it to give it a light smoke look. I think that would look hot!
