I was staring at the back of dash getting ready to remove airbag, but i realized gf will be in vehicle. So in the event of(when) i roll it into a ditch, id like atleast her to be safe.
Removed a lot of deadening and puddy stuff though. I want to swap carpets, so maybe a lightweight one will be put in in exchange if i can sell my tan carpet and black carpet to offset some of the cost of the lightweight carpet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the passenger side air bag deactivated when the system acknowledges an error with the Driver's side? In effect, wouldn't the passenger side just be dead weight if you pull the Driver's side and leave the light on?

Both airbags or no airbags unless you do some rigging to make the driver side appear there to the module.
I have a roll of ozite, the super lightweight carpet everyone uses. You can have it if you want it.

You work at a dealer, find a older rep who worked with trucks and snag a Oem switch to turn off pax airbag. Would be some rigging to turn off driver side but I'm sure you can do it

Probably, haven't experimented in it but that's usually what the module looks for. Either specific voltage or resistance afaik.

Harness go to cage, not seat. Should be able to do it with stock seats.
I can probably get you 1 or 2 harnesses. Tracks make you get a new one every ~3 years or something so there are always old ones to be had for free

yes, i know. But I dont think harnesses over stock seats is a good idea. I feel like the way they come over the seat they would only grab the outside edge of my shoulders. which in turn i would think would be really really bad if i got in a bad crash.

Havent done much with the car over the past weeks, got out of work a bit early the day it snowed so used the time to throw the dash mostly back in. Just the 5 bolts across the top and 2 nuts behind either kick panel hold it in now so if i gotta pull it again its easy.
Started interior tear down as well. Rear seats and the hatch plastics are out. Rear seats will not make there way back into the car, but the tan plastics will be swapped out for some black ones i have from the last car. In the next few days the seats and carpet will be removed as well. Not sure what im going to do with the seats. I dont like the tan leather, but i dont think the "budget" will include new seats during this phase lol
Also, the factory carpet will be replaced with some black Ozite(#GiftsFromAdam) but wont be installed for a while. I dont want to glue it all down and then have to peel it back up to weld the cage in.
oh yeah, i bought a low miles 4L60e, Shift kit, Separator plate and ARP hardware as well. And the gf hooked it up with a nice new B&M trans cooler for valentines day !

got around to dropping the Walbro into the factory bucket due to some free time at work yesterday. Lemme tell ya... atrocious.
I opted for the WS6Store 255 direct drop in kit(bc it maintains venturi system)
Now let me make this clear, WS6Store is an awesome company, they have the best if not dead close prices, and Mike @ WS6 store has always answered my emails quickly.
But man, the kit is trash.
Maybe i just got an off one or something. Its supposed to come with new clamp for the according line, NOPE. New clamp for the jet line, NOPE. As well as the instructions themselves having the wires labeled the wrong color(Red instead of grey) they are label opposite.
After all that, the new 255 has the ports at the bottom for suction, however the factory rubber sleeve thingy doesnt line up with it. so has to be cut and modified. Also, once it is cut so you can get the sock on the bottom, since the 255 is a smaller diameter than the stock FP, the sleeve doesnt hold it. So you have to run a clamp around the rubber sleeve to keep the 255 in place.
Will post pics later when my wifi isnt being a buk buk

Wanted to get the engine bay cleaned and prepped while the car is still inside, got that done last week.

Looks like the cold finally is broke for good and nice weather is ahead. Time to get the car out of the garage and into the driveway in prep to pull the front end and get this thing going.
Before going outside i still have a few things left id like to do inside just because of better lighting a slightly more comfy floor to lay on.
The list goes as followed:
1. Fuel Tank into car
2. ABS Delete/Line Lock install
3. Torque Arm install
4. Complete the dash reinstall
1. Fuel Tank into car
I know a few weeks back i was on this but i just ended up getting side tracked with the whole interior removal/Roll cage thing. So its time to get back on it. The new 255 pump is ready to rock in the bucket, and the bucket is in the tank. Since the car wont have either a return system or a EVAP set up, the Return line on the pump hat will be capped, and the vent port will be vented to atmosphere by a breather filter. On the tank itself the 2 lines that used to go to the canister will be looped into eachother, and the vent valve will get the same treatment as the one on the tank hat, vented to atmosphere by a filter.
The car came with a fuel cell in it, so in addition to getting a new tank, i have new lock ring, seal, fuel filter, tank straps and hardware showing up from GM tomorrow. Will also be eliminating the return line from the bottom of the car. It saves less than a pound prob, but i wont have a stupid dead line just sitting in the bay.
2. ABS Delete/Line Lock install
Just ordered this bad boy today. Going to help clean up the bay a ton, and also shed some weight. Went with the SJM Manufacturing kit, which everyone ive seen seemed to have been happy with.
3. Torque Arm install
snagged a Spohn adjustable chassis mount torque arm of another member a few months back, since there is no arm in the car now the rear likes to wrap a bit while its rolling around or in the air. And since it is a chassis mount unit, i wont have to worry about it getting in the way during the trans/Engine fiasco
4. Complete the dash reinstall
This is more of a button up thing. I had to pull the dash and the column to swap the auto pedals in as well as remove the hvac stuff. Everything is kind throw in just hand tight incase i had to remove again. Have to tighten up all the pedal bolts, plug all those plugs on the column back in, and then throw the radio and crap back on. Should be a long job, but im sure it wont go together as planned.

What i need to know from TEA is that they list valve springs are included in the service, however i already have a set of Ti Retainer BTR .660 springs waiting to go on. Id like to send them out with my heads and just use them and save some dollars and time not having to sell my BTR set.

Today I had a great lesson in the right tool makes the job much easier.
I bought one of those cheapo brake line flare tools. Not the best idea I've had. The metal on the "cone" of the tool, the part that actually presses the mouth of the line is a super soft metal. I flared the 4 on chassis lines and that's it. The cone was pretty well pancaked, so I couldn't do the 2 lines from the noids to the T fittings. I only have to do those 2, so I'll prob just get one from harbor freight tomorrow and finish it off.

These fancy fancy things came last night as well. I was skeptical at first, but people that have used them swear by them. So i figured ill give them a go instead of fiddeling with poor flares. Most of me regrets buying the SJM ABS delete. Going to add this to the list of things Adam was right about on this build. today if i have time ill do the rear lines to the T and from the T to the proportioning valve. Then once that is done id like to devise some sort of strap to hold the lines against the frame rail. Prob just a piece of flat aluminum stock and utilize the bolt holes from the ABS unit bracket

They have those plastic clips that the factory uses. Steal one off of a parts car!

Arent they plastic thought? I thought about using the ones that are on the bottom of the car, but i was afraid of melting it. Also thought to use wire retainer, but figured the rubber that close to the header was a no no

Yeah they are plastic. I guess it depends on where you put them but I'd be surprised if you melted one.

Finished it up last night. Debating on redoing the lines from the Ts to the solonoids so everything matches and looks better. But that can be done down the road.
Rear line 1 to T for proportioning Valve

tried to get a pic of clearance to the frame rail, this with everything tight except the front T to Line Lock Line. May not need to get a retainer after all.

Hardware stores only carry them in steel. On McMaster you can get stainless steel Buffalo nickel to avoid disappointment and future regret

It only gets easier the more you remove and less screws go back in.
